This inaugural Durian Pioneer Festival occurred at KL East Mall in Kuala Lumpur. During the festival, visitors had the opportunity to enjoy authentic Malaysian durians sold at more affordable prices. According to a statement by Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Fauziah Salleh, she highly appreciates the efforts behind this festival, as it benefits many people. One of the key advantages is that it allows this renowned fruit to be enjoyed by everyone at a very affordable price, especially amidst economic challenges.

"People can easily enjoy Malaysia's agricultural produce directly from the plantations at a lower price. Premium Musang King durians are available for just 9.99 ringgit, or approximately USD 2.25 per kilogram," she said.
She further mentioned that the festival not only serves as a platform to introduce Malaysia's authentic durians to the world but also as part of an initiative to assist and alleviate the burden on the public. It allows people to partake in enjoying Malaysia's local produce.
