On May 6, 2025, Indonesian electronics giant Polytron officially debuted its first electric vehicles, the G3 and G3+, marking its 50th anniversary by entering the four-wheeled EV market through a strategic collaboration with China’s Skyworth Auto, and introducing sleek SUV-style models designed to meet the daily needs of Indonesian families while supporting government initiatives for sustainable transportation.

These EVs feature a 51.9 kWh lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery, front-wheel drive, 150 kW of power (201 hp), 320 Nm of torque, and a certified driving range of up to 402 kilometers (CLTC), with a top speed of 150 km/h and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds.

The G3 and G3+ are available under two ownership models: a subscription plan where consumers pay around $18,000 or $21,000 respectively, plus a monthly battery fee of about $75 for usage up to 1,500 km, or a full ownership scheme priced at approximately $26,000 and $28,000 (on-the-road, Jabodetabek or Greater Jakarta) with no separate battery costs.

Both variants come with features such as Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six airbags, body stability control, ISOFIX seats, and a 70% buyback guarantee after three years, along with up to eight years of battery warranty for non-subscription models and unlimited battery replacement under the subscription model.

With local production planned through an assembly plant and deliveries beginning in July, Polytron positions its smart, accessible, and eco-friendly EVs as a fresh step forward in Indonesia’s dynamic automotive landscape.
