Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have officially formalized their strategic joint-business partnership following approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) in January 2026 and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore in July 2025, marking a major milestone in regional aviation cooperation.
The partnership enables MAB and SIA to progressively implement a new phase of commercial cooperation designed to enhance connectivity and customer flexibility between Malaysia and Singapore, with planned initiatives including revenue sharing on selected routes, joint fare products, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel agreements across both markets.
Since signing their initial agreement in October 2019, the airlines have steadily expanded their codeshare arrangements, with Singapore Airlines now offering codeshares on Malaysia Airlines flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, London Heathrow, and 15 domestic Malaysian destinations, while MAB codeshares on SIA flights to nine European cities including Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Istanbul, and Rome.
In February 2024, both carriers launched reciprocal frequent flyer program integration, allowing Malaysia Airlines' Enrich members and Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer members to earn and redeem points or miles on selected flights operated by both airlines, with earning rates varying by booking class and fare type.
The formalized partnership reflects deep economic and commercial ties between Singapore and Malaysia, supporting sustainable connectivity, economic growth, and enhanced network resilience while strengthening both airlines' competitive positions in key Southeast Asian and long-haul markets through complementary frequencies and aligned schedules.
