Jakarta Fair Kemayoran or Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ) returns to town and is still as festive as ever. Celebrating Jakarta’s 498th anniversary on June 22, 2025–Jakarta Fair which is the largest annual event in Southeast Asia takes over the city from 19th June to 13th July 2025 with its spectacular firework show and culinary scene that is always bustling with visitors every year.

What Is the Jakarta Fair and When Does It Start?

Jakarta Fair Kemayoran—abbreviated as JFK—is Southeast Asia’s biggest, most complete, and longest running exhibition and entertainment extravaganza, taking place at JIExpo Kemayoran, North Jakarta for 25 days straight, starting from June 19 to July 13, 2025.  Details on Jakarta Fair’s operational hours are as follows:

  • Monday—Thursday: 15.00–22.30 pm
  • Friday: 15.00–23.00 pm
  • Weekend and National Holiday: 10.00 am — 23.00 pm

According to Indonesia.go.id, Jakarta Fair—originally known as Djakarta Fair, was initially held at the National Monument in Central Jakarta. Its roots actually trace back to Pasar Malam Gambir—an annual night market held from late August to mid-September since 1898  during the colonial era.

With the suggestion from Syamsudin Mangan or Haji Mangan—Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the time—and with support from former governor, Ali Sadikin, the inaugural Djakarta Fair was held successfully in 1968, attracting 1.4 million visitors. It set a record in 1969 by running for 71 days and was even visited by U.S. President Richard Nixon.

Tickets for Jakarta Fair Kemayoran can be purchased directly from the official Jakartafair.co.id website or on the spot. Do note that ticket prices may vary depending of the day of visit as listed below: 

  • Monday: 40.000 IDR
  • Tuesday—Friday: 50.000 IDR
  • Weekend and National Holiday: 60.000 IDR

Attractions at Jakarta Fair

1. Barongsai Night

Location: Front of D2 Hall

The Barongsai Night attraction is a must-see when visiting the Jakarta Fair. For your information, Barongsai is a traditional Chinese dance performed in a long vibrant lion-like costume. Held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, visitors can experience the Barongsai Night show for free, according to Jakartafair.co.id. 

2. Fireworks Show

One of the most anticipated event in Jakarta Fair is none other than the fireworks show. This year too, Jakarta Fair will blow you away with  an enchanting visual experience of colorful and illuminating fireworks display lighting up the night sky. The fireworks show will feature thousands of choreographed bursts of light that are synchronized with the symphony of concert music. 

3. Recreation Park 

This year, Jakarta Fair presents the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran Recreation Park area as a new family-friendly innovation in the event. Located at Gambir Expo in JIEXPO Kemayoran Arena, this recreation park offers a wide variety of appetizing food trucks, tenants, and snack stalls scattered throughout every corner of the arena. Visitors can get around the area using the Wara Wiri Transportation which costs 15.000 IDR for one way and 20.000 IDR for round trip. 

4. Indonesia Heritage

Location: Behind Hall D

For food lovers, make sure to pay a visit to this vast culinary spot which is called Pucuk Coolinary Indonesia Heritage. This cuisine center is literally packed with over 50 tenants, serving traditional Indonesian delicacies, durian stalls, and assorted Thai dishes. For a more convenient payment method, visitors can exchange coins at the Pucuk Coolinary counter. These coins are accepted for purchase at all stalls and are refundable with a minimum balance. 

5. Snack and Souvenir Center

Location: Hall E

Looking for something to munch or bring home for your friends and family? Come stop by the Jakarta Fair’s Snack and Souvenir Center located at Hall E. Here you can find a wide selection of traditional Indonesian family favorites in one place such as Rujak, Siomay, Betawi cuisines, Es Durian, and many more. 

6. Carnival Extravaganza 

Location: Gambir Expo Area

The highlighf of Jakarta Fair Kemayoran has to be its extravagant carnival parade. Bringing togetherness and joy to all visitors, the carnival features a lively parade, marching band performances, mascots, art groups, and ondel-ondel (Jakarta’s cultural icon). This year’s carnival will be held 5 times during the festival. Mark your calendars and be sure to visit on one of these dates:

7. Night Market Festival

Location: Gate I (next to Hall E and Hall C3)

Still not satisfied with the culinary stalls in Indonesia Heritage and the Snack and Souvenir Center? Hold your horses, cause they’re still more at the Night Market Festival. Here there are plenty of affordable food options starting from 18.000 IDR and also selfie spots to spice up your Instagram feed. Moreover, there’s also the “Pamali — Tumbal” haunted hause attraction which offers an exhilarating horror experience.

The attraction’s operational hours start from 16.00 to 22.00 pm on weekdays and 10.00 am to 23.00 pm on weekends.

Parking and Access Information 

Car and Motorbike Parking Area

If you’re visiting by car or motorbike, you can park your vehicle in these four following areas:

  • West parking area (accessible from gate 6A)
  • East parking area (accessible from gate 1 and gate 2)
  • North parking area (access from gate 3)
  • Gedung Pusat Niaga (GPN) parking area (access from Gate 9)

Available payment methods include cash, Flazz, E-money, and Tap Cash with a flat rate of 15.000 IDR for motorbikes, 35.000 IDR for cars, 60.000 for box trucks, and 100.000 for buses. 

Accessible Ticket Booths

For those of you that are still confused on where to exchange your tickets, here’s a list of the nearest ticket booths from each entrance: 

  • Ticket booth 9 (access from gate 1 and gate 9)
  • Ticket booth D and 2A (access from Gate 1 and gate 2)
  • Ticket booth F and G (access from gate 3)

  • Gate B3: exclusive for online tickets only (access from gate 6A) 

Access by Public Transportation 

Can’t get to the Jakarta Fair by car or motorcycle? Worry not, because there are some public transportation options you can choose from. Here’s an easy route to get to Jakarta Fair Kemayoran by train, bus, and MRT:

1. Bus

  • Transjakarta PRJ1 Kampung Melayu - JIEXPO Kemayoran
  • Transjakarta PRJ2 Pulo Gadung - JIEXPO Kemayoran
  • Transjakarta 2C Balai Kota - JIEXPO Kemayoran
  • Transjakarta Corridor 14 Senen - JIS 

2. Train

  • From departing station, exit at Rajawali Station
  • Continue using Jaklingko route JAK 120
  • Get off at Pekan Raya street, continue walking to gate 6A or Gate 8 of JIEXPO Kemayoran

3. MRT

  • From departing station, get off at Bundaran HI Station
  • Continue by taking the Transjakarta Bus Corridor 1 then transit at National Monument (Monas) bus stop
  • From Monas Bus Stop, take Transjakarta 2C serving from Balai Kota to JIEXPO Kemayoran

What Facilities are Available?

As the largest and most extensive fair in the Southeast Asia region, Jakarta Fair provides a relatively full range of facilities for visitors, from prayer rooms, restaurants, cafes, nursery rooms, ATMs, medical rooms, to the nearest hotel from the venue—the Holiday Inn Express Jakarta International Expo.
